The Daedalus is an amphibious assault ship of the U.N. forces deployed in the ocean area surrounding South Ataria Island which ASS-1 crash landed. The function of this ship was the loading and sortie of the Destroid-series, deploying them promptly upon arriving at an enemy base. The warship, along with the aircraft carrier Prometheus was involved in Macross's reckless fold and was transferred to Pluto. Repairs were made and was connected to the starboard-side of Macross. It endured the space environment while docked with Macross and was severely damaged in 2012.

Background

The SLV-111 Daedalus was named after the Greek mythical inventor and builder of the labyrinth and man-made wings.
