Macross II: Lovers Again
Macross Chronicle's timeline sheet for Macross II dates the events of the OVA to the wrong year (2091). The correct year is 2092, as stated in the Macross II OSTs. 2092 is also the only year that fits with the in-series dialogue and the creator interviews and VF History piece found in B-Club Magazine Vol.79 (June '92). VF History establishes that the last Zentradi invasion was in 2082, and Sylvie's dialogue establishes that the "present day" is ten years after that. Mash's similar remarks about the Macross having ended humanity's war with the Zentradi eighty years prior, in conjunction with the backstory from the canon prequel game Macross 2036, singles out 2092 as the only possible date for the events of Macross II: Lovers Again.
Sadly, much of Macross Chronicle's coverage of Macross II is either painfully inaccurate or lacking in detail present in previous publications. This also isn't the first time Macross II has been mis-dated. US Renditions and Palladium Books were responsible for mis-dating the OVA to 2089. - Seto Kaiba
