Talk:Sheryl Nome

From Macross Compendium

Orphan?

Sheryl also happens to be an orphan, with the only memento from her mother being a pair of earrings that she always wears in her performances.

Similar Names

Sheryl's family name is rather similar to Mao_Nome, and Sara_Nome for some strange reason. Am I just being slow or is there anything published yet that also notes this similarity other then Episode 10 of Macross_Frontier? --Lanji 05:01, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

i think its more plausible, seeing as how in the latest episode Sheryl is revealed to have been homeless as a child, that she was adopted by Mao Nome, in that case legally they may have the same family name from adoption rather than blood relation. Evirus 02:20, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Yep, it was confirmed in Episode 24 that she's the granddaughter of Mao_Nome. I'm guessing that she's adopted, but I have no proof of that as of yet either. Is there a policy here on updating character profiles as information like this comes out? --Lanji 16:58, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm still waiting for Egan to get back to me on his policy. Until then, I've only been using written sources which I note in the edit summary below the main editing box. --Azrael 17:28, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Sounds like a good policy Azrael. Left a message on your talk page as well, thanks for your help! --Lanji 06:51, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Given Sheryl's highly suggestive blood type (alpha, not unlike alpha bomba), and my own interpretation of her backstory (She was a baby in Mao's daughter's arms, infant even. To me this says her parents died somehow, she lived homeless for a time, with no family left given the research fleet likely had Mao on board, and further given the rather straight implication that GRACE took her in afterward, probably recognizing who she was. Why use Mao's granddaughter? Grace is EVIL, she did it for giggles, and it turned out rather well). And now I just lost my place. Point is I think the evidence indicates pretty clearly that Sheryl inherited all the family blood, including the blood type. She's Mayan through and through.
Whether the evidence makes it clear or not, that's not the point. We still need a written/published source to denote that lineage. Otherwise, this site would be no better than Wikipedia. --Azrael 05:08, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
