Unauthorized copies of the English dub are bootlegged or pirated copies, but an English dub of DYRL *before* the cuts were made is not necessarily either. There was a 1987 video tape and laser disk release in Japan by Victor Entertainment and Emotion that was entitled Superspace Fortress Macross as well as an official American release in 1995.
