First Attack

"First Attack" is the seventh episode of the Macross Frontier animated television series.

When news arrives that Sheryl Nome's home, the Macross Galaxy fleet, was hit by a large-scale attack by the Vajra, Alto Saotome and his unit head out in the S.M.S. warship to rescue the surviving Galaxy ships on the same day as Sheryl's live concert. Despite her concern for Alto's life-or-death battle, Sheryl sings with all her heart and even Ranka Lee joins her in singing from the audience seats. The S.M.S. and the New U.N. Spacy wage a great battle, but then the Vajra's giant carrier appears and Luca Angeloni is "swallowed" by it.

- This episode has the first appearance of the VF-27 fighter (except for the opening animation), and the first appearance of the VB-6 König Monster in combat (except for the Macross VF-X2 game).
- This episode used "Aimo" by Megumi Nakajima (as Ranka Lee) as its ending theme song. This song was last used as the ending theme song in the April 2008 broadcast version of the first episode, "Close Encounter."
- The episode has Sheryl Nome (May'n) singing an excerpt of the song "Iteza Gogo Kuji Don't be late." It also has Nome and Ranka Lee (Megumi Nakajima) singing the song "Infinity."
