Well, your description in the text is accurate enough, I think. I would just use a different word than 'straightfoward' to describe her personality ;) Changing the subject, wouldn't be better to refer to the SMS characters by their role in the ship instead in SMS? Of course, they are affiliated to SMS, but their roles are most exclusive for the Quarter - SMS is a gigantic company - it's not like she operates the "SMS radar".
