Captain (rank)

A Military Rank who is responsibilities differ depending on what branch of the military they are in.
For Army officers, a captain is one step above a 1st Lieutenant, and one step below a Major. This rank represents a Company Grade or Junior Grade officer within the Army.

- In Romaji: IttŌ rikui
- In English: Captain
For Navy officers, a captain is one step above Commander, and one step below a Rear Admiral. This rank represents a Senior Grade officer within the Navy.
- In Japanese: 1等海佐
- In Romaji: IttŌ kaisa
- In English: Captain
