Talk:HWR-00 Monster
From Macross Compendium
I'm fairly certain the 22.2 m figure initially assigned as a "length" for the MKIP is actually supposed to be a dimension for height. Both height figures provided for the Monster series are described as "to guns muzzles" and it makes no sense the MkIP's only described dimension statistic would be a figure for length. Examining the artwork for both the Monster MKII and the MKIP shows they have almost identical proportions to each other (size of cockpit relative to the rest of the chasis, size of arms and feet relative to the body, etc) which in no way indicates the MKIP would be anywhere near half the size of the MkII. If the MKIP were to really be 22.2 meters "long" compared to the MKII's 41 meters, the resulting MKIP would be 12.16 meters tall (at a length-to-height ratio of 0.5417), making the MKIP smaller than a VF-1 Battroid (12.68 meters), which would be anything BUT "monstrous" by comparison.
- While I may agree in principal, the translation states otherwise. The Chronicle uses: 全長 for the HWR-00-MkIP entry, not 全高 which is used in the HWR-00-MkII. If this is an error, it is an error on the part of the Chronicle editors, not by us. They also contradict it with a height diagram. So this would likely need an intended meaning explanation. --Azrael 02:11, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
