Prototype variable fighter developed by Macross Galaxy Fleet Arsenal "Guld Works" based on the YF-24 Evolution, who developed the new variable fighterVF-27 Lucifer, with a similar wing shape to the prototype unit YF-24.
This unit is a direct development of the VF-22 Sturmvogel II line which adopts the brain direct connection control achieved with complete implant control for the BDI flight control system that was developed. In addition, it is not equipped with ISC with caution due to the output because it is a technology-demonstrator.
Visual stealth, a so-called optical camouflage are adopted for spying operations to the armor and dazzle camouflage for misrecognition and misdirection. Because the particular armament, the BGP-02α, a larger-scale version of the BGP-01β, cannot be mounted on the lower body, it is mounted for use on the right wing. Balance is maintained by mounting an energy unit equipped with a reactor furnace as special equipment on the left wing.
The unit was used in black operations by the Galaxy company and brought back a great amount of actual combat data to "Guld Works". The approach of this company to develop a mass production unit by illegal means saw perfection in the completed VF-27 afterwards; although it was not able to boast this compliment, it was certainly effective.
Design Features
Visual stealth. BDI flight control. Dazzle camouflage. Energy unit with a reactor is mounted on the left wing to maintain balance of BGP-02α, which is mounted on the right wing.
Powerplant
- Two Shinsei/P&W/RR FF-3011C Stage II thermonuclear turbine engines (maximum thrust in space 1377 KN) with thrust reverser and three-dimensional vectoring nozzles.
- P&W HMM-9 High maneuverability thrusters.

- Anti-projectile (bulletproof) shield mounted on center rear dorsal fuselage in Fighter mode or on lower left arm section in GERWALK and Battroid modes.
- Karbar-OTEC AK/VF-M9F Assault knife for close-quarter combat.
