From Macross Compendium
Is it possible to add a table of contents, like the one here? Currently, navigating this wiki is a lot more effort than is needed. IMHO, the current arrangement isn't broken (best to save any reogranizations until after the majority of info is imported, eh?) I've already begun a TOC here: mecha. - I agree, and I've added a table of contents via MediaWiki's Category format. From now on, all standard articles has to fit in subcategories of five major categories: Production, Story, Characters, Mecha, and Music. For example, the VF-1 Valkyrie should have "[[Category:Variable vehicles]]" at the end of the article. Category:Variable vehicles, in turn, is a subcategory of Category:Mecha. Egan, what about the variable fighter category? Shouldn't variable vehicles be for things like the Octos?--Heron 00:19, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- We should have all of them in "[[Category:Variable vehicles]]" instead of "[[Category:Variable fighters]]". That avoids the issue of dealing with FBz-99 Saubergeran and other vehicles that have multiple roles. The ideal model would be the same subcategories that were in the Mecha category of the old Compendium. The main exceptions is switching to American spellings (no "armour") and renaming Infantry Weapons to Personal Equipment. I'll be glad to answer any other questions. --Egan Loo 00:10, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, that makes sense. I will go through and categorize the vehicles I have worked on. I already redid the cat's on the Macross Zero Characters. --User:Heron Heron 00:29, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Great, thanks for recategorizing the Zero characters, and also for adding the "|" alphabetical sorting tag. That helps with the organization immensely. —Egan Loo 00:34, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

How do you want to handle the Music? --Heron 02:25, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- I added entries for Macross Frontier's "Triangler" song and Triangler (CD single) as ideal examples. Basically, individual vocal songs (and significant background music tracks such as "Macross Anthem" in Macross Plus) will have their own articles in Category:Macross Frontier music or the equivalent for other series (Category:Macross Plus music for "Macross Anthem"). The physical CDs will be listed in the Category:Macross Frontier audio or the equivalent for other series (Category:Macross Plus audio for the Macross Plus Original Soundtrack).--Egan Loo 09:33, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Egan, I noticed that there's an issue with the "Protodeviln" category. It seems to be spelt "Protodevlin" here. I don't know how I could fix it; if I knew, I'd do it immediately. Skullone 17:24, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
I'll match up the entries to correspond to the old site's spelling - "Protodeviln". --Azrael 20:58, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Is it ok to upload images? I'm planning to populate the mecha pages better, to not rely on official sites to be online (in Frontier's case). I'll be updating some bits, like organizing the Frontier's episode list, and some "will be released" dates that already passed. EDIT: I just saw the Most Wanted List, so I think I'll try to make some pages about the staff/actors entries - I love this kind of info ;) --Verythrax 11:20, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
AMAZING! Macross Compendiun is Still Around?!
I'm just stunned this site is still around, only because it's been so many years since I last visited this site (back in '99/00)! I even have printouts still for the different VF's! But I guess once a Macross fan, always a Macross fan, and a site like this never goes away!
I just recently got back into Macross because of Macross Frontier, and was wondering why the VF-19 wasn't around. I did a Google search and lo and behold, Macross Compendium!
Thanks for keeping this site going everyone! This made my day :)
Spamming issue
If anybody reading the site has any suggestions on how to deal with the Wiki-spam, let Egan know. Banning accounts isn't doing anything to stop it. --Azrael 04:49, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Perhaps it's time to implement some spam filtering on the site. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Spam --Azrael 16:10, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
