Michael Blanc's motto is to always acquire the target on the first shot — be it the enemy or a girl. During combat, his aim is off and Alto Saotome is nearly hit. After returning to the ship, Alto and Michael fight over the mistaken shot. Kuran Kuran happens to see this and tells Alto about Michael's sad past.
