"Star Date" is the fifth episode of the Macross Frontier animated television series.

Sheryl Nome comes across Alto Saotome again to find her missing earring. To find the earring, she orders Alto to guide her around the Macross Frontier fleet. Ozma Lee refuses to let Ranka Lee pursue her dream of becoming a singer, so Ranka runs away. She talks with Alto Saotome's rival Michael Blanc, but questions her resolve to sing in front of people.

Notes
- Many of the sights in Island 1's San Francisco neighborhood are based on actual locales such as Pipe Dreams and Piedmont Boutique. However, the Powel Street of this future San Francisco continues to be spelled differently from the real San Francisco street in California.
- The Zentradi character Erumo Kridanik has the same last name as Vrlitwhai Kridanik.
- Except for the Galaxy Starliner craft in the first episode (Close Encounter), this episode has the first appearance of a Macross Galaxy spacecraft.
- The episode has Sheryl Nome (May'n) and Ranka Lee (Megumi Nakajima) singing excerpts of the song "What 'bout my star?" It also has the song "Uchū Kyōdai Fune" ("The Ship of Space Brothers") as sung by Ichirō Tokugawa (Tetsu Inada).
